Personal Property Declaration, Waiver of

 

Ordinance to Waive Additional Assessment for

Corporate Personal Property Declarations

 

Section 1.  The Assessor for the Town of Stonington is hereby authorized to waive the twenty-five percent (25%) penalty only for those corporate personal property declarations that were filed on time but due to neglect or mistake were improperly signed and/or notarized.  This waiver is granted for the reason that the personal property declarations were received by the Town of Stonington in a timely manner and any defect was due to neglect or mistake by failure to sign and/or notarize the personal property declaration; the assessor shall provide for the publication of the list of all such waivers that are granted by this ordinance.  This ordinance shall be effective commencing with the October 1, 1999 Grand List and for subsequent years.

 

Section 2.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
