Tessa Getchis will facilitate a community discussion about how we use our

coastal waters for cultivating seafood. During this event, we will learn about

the challenges facing aquaculture development along our heavily utilized

coastlines, and explore how community concerns can be addressed through

the regulatory process.

Tessa L. Getchis is an extension agent with Connecticut Sea Grant at

the University of Connecticut in Groton. She works with regulatory

agencies, community leaders, and farmers to develop environmentally

and economically sustainable aquaculture. She lives in Mystic with her

husband and two daughters
