Resolution Establishing Recreation Commission
 
Recreation Commission is hereby established for the Town of Stonington;
 
Said Commission to consist of seven members, to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen.  Four members shall be appointed for terms of four years, and three members shall be appointed for terms of three years.  The Board of Selectmen may remove any member for cause and may fill any vacancy.
 
Said Commission to plan, supervise, and co-ordinate a town recreational and athletic program, or programs, and the use of town facilities therefore; to appoint a Recreation Director, with such assistants as may be necessary; to accept gifts and acquire land in the name of the Town of Stonington for said purposes.
 
Said Commission to keep records of its meetings and activities and make an annual report to the municipality in the manner required of other agencies of the Town of Stonington.
 
The sum of $5800 is hereby appropriated as a budget to operate the program of the    Recreation Commission.
