2022 Revaluation Project News

2022 REVALUATION PROJECT NEWS AND INFORMATION

The Town of Stonington, CT has hired Vision Government Solutions Inc to complete its state-mandated residential revaluation project & Lawrence Revaluation Services to complete the commercial revaluation project.  The reassessment project will establish market value as of October 1, 2022 and will be reflected in the tax bills issued July 2023.  The project will commence this fall with data mailers being sent to the owner of record for every property. Data collectors will be inspecting properties with active building permits or properties that have sold recently.  To ensure the safety of our citizens’ data collectors will carry a letter of identification from the Assessor’s Office, a photo ID badge, and have their cars registered with the Stonington Police Department.  You may contact the Department of Assessment at 860-535-5098 for further confirmation.   All property owners and tenants are respectfully requested to cooperate with data collectors to ensure that accurate information is used in the revaluation process.  Valuation work will continue throughout the coming year with notices of the new valuations being mailed to property owners in the fall of 2022.  Residents will have the option of meeting with Revaluation staff in Stonington to review the new proposed assessments.  Values will be finalized and appear on the 2022 Grand List.

Look for further updates as the revaluation process continues throughout the coming year on the Town of Stonington website: www.stonington-ct.gov.
