Route 1 Corridor Study Committee

The Route 1 Corridor Study Committee was established by the Planning and Zoning Commission to look at existing development in the Route 1 corridor, evaluate development potential under current town regulations, and determine whether any changes were warranted. This study is intended to assist the land use agencies of the Town by planning for desired development patterns, instead of reacting to development plans prepared by others.

The work of the Committee will be assisted by two consultants - Planimetrics, a land use planning firm based in Avon, Connecticut and Dodson Associates, a land design planning firm based in Ashfield, Massachusetts.

A Public Meeting was held on March 26, 2007 in which nearly 200 residents offered their opinions on the Corridor’s assets and challenges, and shared their visions for the future of the area.
