U.S. Small Business Administration - Disaster Loans for Severe Storms and Flooding Occurring January 9-13, 2024

U.S. Small Business Administration - Disaster Loans

As a result of the flooding that took place in our area from 01/09/24 - 01/13/24 the Town of Stonington sought to locate funding opportunities to assist with the resulting damage.  Although, Connecticut did not meet the threshold for the amount of damage required for a Major Disaster Declaration,  the State of Rhode Island did have a Major Disaster Declaration approved.  As a result contiguous counties within CT are now approved to seek funding through the Small Business Association (SBA) for qualifying damage. It should be noted that loans through the SBA can also be applied for by individual homeowners and renters. Loans being requested through SBA have deadlines of 05/20/24 for physical damage and 12/23/24 for economic injury.  Please reference the fact sheet for additional information.

If you choose to apply for a loan through the SBA we have included the two links below to assist in this process:

All questions regarding this opportunity should be directed to the SBA using the information supplied.  Thank you.
