Administrative Services

The Department of Administrative Services provides oversight and management of the following functions for the Town and Town employees:

Human Resources:
The goal of Human Resources is to attract and retain the talent that will meet the current and future needs of the Town of Stonington in order to provide high quality service to our Town residents.  The department has responsibility for all Human Resources programs, policies, operations and administration for the Town including recruitment, benefits, employee training, employee and labor relations, diversity and inclusion and talent management.  We achieve our goals by collaborating with the various departments to drive the highest levels of engagement and performance.  We also have responsibility for support of the Risk Manager for workers’ compensation and employee safety.

Information Technology:
The Information Technology Department is responsible for all desktop computer systems, data networks, application servers, printers/copiers, computer software, application backups and internal telephone system for all Town departments. This excludes those associated with the Board of Education.

Capital Improvement Program (CIP):
Responsible for management and coordination of the annual Capital Improvement Program and the Long-Range Capital Improvements Committee for the Town as detailed in the Town Charter, the Capital Improvement Program Policies and the Resolution Creating a Long-Range Capital Improvements Committee.

In addition, the Department provides administrative/staff support to both the Office of the First Selectman and the Risk Manager.
