Building Code Board of Appeals
ORDINANCE RE: BUILDING CODE/BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGAL VOTERS OF THE TOWN OF STONINGTON IN LAWFUL TOWN MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED;
- That, pursuant to Chapter 354 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, Revision of 1958, as amended, the State Building Code be and hereby is adopted as the Building Code for the Town of Stonington and;
- That, the Board of Selectmen be and hereby are empowered, to appoint a Building Board of Appeals consisting of five (5) members pursuant to the provisions of said Chapter 354. The members of said Board shall be sworn to the faithful performance of their duties and shall be appointed as follows: initially, two (2) members for a period of three (3) years each; two (2) members for a period of two (2) years each; and one (1) member for a period of one (1) year. All subsequent appointments shall be for a period of three (3) years. In the event of a vacancy in any such term, the Board of Selectmen are hereby empowered to appoint for unexpired portion of such term.
- That, the Board of Selectmen be and hereby are empowered and directed to establish fees to be charged for applications, permits and certificates as may be required under such Building Code.
