Conservation Commission

ORDINANCE RE:  CONSERVATION COMMISSION

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGAL VOTERS OF THE TOWN OF STONINGTON IN LAWFUL TOWN MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED:

Section 1. The Town of Stonington hereby accepts the provisions of Public Act 310 of the 1961 Session of the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut and establishes hereby a Conservation Commission.

Section 2. The purpose of said Commission shall be to conduct research into the utilization and possible utilization of land areas of the Town of Stonington and to perform such other functions as by law provided; and for such purposes said Commission shall have all rights, powers, duties and obligations confirmed and implied by Public Act 310, aforementioned.

Section 3. Beginning on August 1, 1967, said Commission shall consist of seven members and the Selectmen shall on or before August 1, 1967 appoint two additional members to said Commission to serve for a term of five years from said date.  Increase the membership of said Commission by one (1) alternate position to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for a term of five years.
