Monday, Tuesday: 9:00 to 3:00
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday, Friday: 9:00 to 3:00
Saturday: 8:00 to 3:00
Sunday: 8:00 to 1:00

Transfer Station Location
The Stonington Transfer Station is located at 151 Greenhaven Road in Pawcatuck, CT.

Here is a list of what is accepted at no additional charge for Stonington residents:

Household paints and stains - Up to 5 gal

Batteries of all types

Brush, leaves, organic yard debris

Cooking Oil

Electronic items

Clean recycling materials

Fluorescent and mercury vapor lights.

Gently used books

Gently used clothing - GoodWill container

Grill Propane Tanks -  (does not need to be empty)

Mattresses/boxsprings - limit 4  (Call the Transfer Station to confirm room in the storage trailer)

Paints and stains  (household - no marine paint) 5 gallons per day

Paint and Aerosol cans (empty) can be added to the Scrap Metal bin.

Tires - Automobile and Truck (rims go in the metal bin)

Waste motor oil and antifreeze

We also maintain a “drop and shop”for items you may no longer need BUT are to good to dispose of.

Compost and wood chips are available on a self-serve basis free of charge to residents. Supply is subject to availability and one yard limits may apply.

Brush: Commercial: $80/ton

Bulky Waste/Construction & Demolition Debris $125.00/ton

Concrete/Rubble $20/ton

Large Bulky Items (couch, recliner, tables ) $10/each

Freon Appliances (A/C, refrigerator, dehumidifiers) $10/each

Carpets/Rugs - Must be cut in pieces no larger than 4x4. Bulky Waste Fees Apply.
