South Anguilla Bridge Rehab Notice

Please see the following notice for rehabilitation of the bridge at the north end of South Anguilla Road (near Pequot Trail - CT 234):

The Town of Stonington has contracted with Suchocki & Sons Construction to rehabilitate the South Anguilla Bridge. Preparatory activities for the Maintenance and Protection of traffic have been installed (signage, markings, protective barrels) to facilitate the alternating one way traffic. Construction activities should commence Monday September 18th, 2023 to include: removal and re-construction of parapet walls, railing, paving and new guide rails. The intended timeline of construction is for the months of September thru to the end of October, 2023.

The contractor’s work hours are typically 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday-Friday.  Traffic will be slowed and expect some delay, one lane will remain open to keep traffic flowing.  Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and allow themselves additional time to reach their destinations. If this is being sent to a property owner that does not live on South Anguilla Road, please alert your tenant to the fact that this work is about to begin to minimize the disturbance to them.

Please bear in mind, we are sending this letter out to help best communicate our operations with the public, however, our plans may change due to weather and contractor availability. If you have any questions with regards to this upcoming work, feel free to call me at 860-535-5055.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Pescosolido

Director of Public Works
